As air gets compressed above it's natural state, there is a significant rise in temperature as more air molecules occupy given volume increasing it's density. This is a common occurrence with forced induction applications and a huge issue to car manufacturers and car tuners alike. Hotter charged air is not only less dense than cooler air, making less power. Hotter air also increases the chances of the engine pre-igniting or "detonating" as it is closer to flash-point. Not to mention turbo-chargers use exhaust gasses making the charge air even hotter. Intercoolers are fitted between the compressor and engine in order to cool the charge gasses passing through leading to cooler, more dense intake air resulting in higher power gains and yielding safer engine operations.

Our High Capacity Intercooler for the 16+ Civic Turbos have a significant size advantage over factory yielding better heat exchanging properties especially for tuning and track applications. Comprised of aluminum and designed as a direct bolt-on application for ease of install, the drawbacks from this upgrade are little to none. And like all Megan Racing products, they are protected with a 1-year warranty against manufacturer defects.
